Headteacher's Welcome          Ms Gillan

Hello and welcome to session 24-25 at Cairns Primary School.

We are very excited to be working with our pupils and their families and have lots of exciting things planned for the year ahead.

We look forward to welcoming our parents and carers into school across the session. Our first event is our 'Meet the Teacher' open night where we invite our families to come along with their children to meet their teacher and see their new classroom. It is also an opportunity to find out what we are doing this year in school and discover the many ways you can continue to support your child's progress.

This session we will be working hard to improve attendance across all stages of our school. Attending and taking part in learning - wherever learning takes place - is fundamental to making sure that our young people become successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens.

Scotland's children and young people need to be included, engaged and involved throughout their education. Parents and carers are by far the most important influence on children's lives and learning and it is parents and carers who are responsible for making sure their child is educated.

Look out for information on how we can support your child with attendance and the information we will share about why attendance matters at each of our parent events.

As always, if you have any issues, concerns or ideas you would like to discuss with us, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or email, via the school office. We are always keen to help and support all of our children and their families.

I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Kind regards,

Helen Gillan
