Maths Workshops for Parents
Over the past few weeks, we have been running maths workshops for parents. These sessions have allowed parents to learn more about how key concepts in maths are taught at Cairns Primary School.
Mrs McIntyre, Mr Terry and Miss Steele led workshop sessions for parents of P1-3 pupils and P4-7 pupils. The teachers demonstrated how important concepts are taught in maths and also answered any questions parents had along the way. Parents were also introduced to maths packs which can be borrowed from school and enable parents and children to work together at home through games and activities; consolidating classroom learning.
Help booklets were provided at the sessions as a prompt for helping with homework or to start a discussion about maths learning at home. The booklets can be downloaded below:
