Primary 4 have Miss McCracken and Mr Paterson as their teachers this year!
Wow, what a quick and interesting year it has been so far. I can't believe we are already in Term 4 and having to do our learning online!
The boys and girls in P4 have adapted so well to the new set up and are working extremely hard on their learning packs, Google Classroom, Sumdog and other apps and websites. They are even picking up new skills and hobbies through baking, exercising, cooking, DIY and mastering the art of communicating with their friends, families and teachers through online platforms. Well done!
Here is a snapshot of what we will be learning about this term:
Numeracy - revising and practising our essential numeracy skills (adding, multiplying, subtraction and division). Learning our times tables off by heart, ready for a great start in P5. Revising our knowledge of measure, data analysis and money.
Literacy - practising our phoneme and common words through word attack and Active Spelling strategies. Reading for enjoyment with fluency and developing our understanding of the texts using North Lanarkshire's Reading Strategies. Developing our use of VCOP and writing different genres of texts.
Mini Topic - we have been learning about the weather and climates and will be finishing this off shortly. Our next mini topic will be 'The World of Work'. Through this we will incorporate our knowledge and skills in Health and Wellbeing, Expressive Arts, Social Studies and Science.
Technologies - we are getting some great real life experience of using technology from online learning and communication with others. We will also continue to develop technology skills through food and textile tasks.
French - we will try to practise the vocabulary we have learned so far and enjoy watching some videos and playing games to learn new vocab related to our mini topics.
PE - lots of us have been enjoying a range of different activities to keep us fit and healthy. These include daily walks, cycling, gymnastics, PE with Joe Wicks, online classes and general fun and games in the garden.
